Istanbul Bilgi University, founded in 1996, adheres to the principle of “learning for life, not just for school” and has become a civil corporation within the Turkish higher education system. Currently, the university has over 20,000 students, nearly 45,000 alumni, and more than 1,000 academicians. In the QS ranking for 2019, Bilgi University ranked fourth among Turkish universities and 140th among universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The university comprises 7 faculties, 3 institutes, 4 schools, 3 vocational schools, and offers over 150 programs for associate, undergraduate, and graduate students.

Between 2006-2019, İstanbul Bilgi University partnered with Laureate Education, a leading global education network, to enhance education quality, research, and global competitiveness.

Can Holding joined the Bilgi Culture and Education Foundation’s supporters in 2019.

The university holds significant international accreditations, such as MUDEK in engineering disciplines.
