Cyprus Science University, a highly appealing private institution for international students, was established in 2013 and rapidly gained local and global recognition. Initially called the British University in Nicosia, the institution changed its name to Cyprus University of Science in 2016 to avoid confusion with the renowned University of Cyprus Nicosia in southern Cyprus. The new name is inspired by a famous Turkish leader’s quote emphasizing the importance of knowledge.
